The section on the economy asked two questions:
- Broadly speaking, should taxes on businesses be raised or lowered?
- How important are measures to decrease the national debt?
The first question in this section asked about raising or lowering taxes on businesses. This question fell mostly along party lines, with some deviation. Of those who stated that they vote Democrat, 58.8% chose that taxes should be raised. Of those who stated that they vote Republican, 71.4% chose that taxes should be lowered.

This question was the only one which let respondents rank their choice from 1-5. The results for this question landed relatively along party lines, with those who stated they vote Democrat generally choosing 1-3, and those who stated they vote Republican generally choosing 4-5.
