The section on immigration asked two questions:
- Should undocumented immigrants currently residing in the United States be given a path to legal residency and citizenship?
- Should undocumented immigrants receive access to government-subsidized healthcare?
The results from this section of the survey show some interesting findings. First, we can see that there is general agreement that undocumented immigrants should receive a path to legal residency and citizenship. While this is traditionally a view that is seen as liberal, or pertaining to the Democratic party, 57% of individuals surveyed who vote Republican chose "Yes" to the first question. Comprising 82% of the overall sample group, it is safe to say that this could be a popular view amongst voters.
The results for the second question fell much more closely along partisan lines. Of those who stated that they voted with the Democratic party, only 8.8% chose "No". Similarly, of those who stated that they voted with the Republican party, only 7.1% chose "Yes".
