The section on national security asked three questions:
- Should the United States continue its drone program?
- Should the media be able to publish government classified information if it is leaked to them?
- Should the United States pursue criminal charges against Edward Snowden?
The first question in this section asked about the drone program, and received very interesting results, with equal amounts of respondents choosing "Yes", "No", and "Neutral". Among those who stated that they vote Republican, 78.6% chose "Yes". Among those who stated they vote Democrat, however, the responses were much more mixed. Within that group, 38.2% chose "No", and 41.2% chose "Neutral".

The next question pertained to whether the media should be able to publish classified information. This question received general agreement on the "Yes" option, although responses on both sides of the aisle varied. Of those who stated they vote Democrat, 67.6% chose "Yes". Of those who stated they vote Republican, 42.9% chose "Yes".

The next question involved whether the United States should pursue criminal charges against Edward Snowden, and saw general agreement in the "No" category. While many chose "Neutral", very few respondents believed that criminal charges should be pursued. This accounted for 2.9% of those who stated they vote Democrat, and 14.3% of those who stated they vote Republican.
